At least this paper got the date right: 1901. A century can only begin when the year ends with a "1", as there was no "Year Zero." Every Seinfeld fan knows that...
 
Nice call, Quinn. (Assuming they meant a toast to the NEW century, as opposed to just a toast that happens to be occurring in the 21st century, ha.

But it's funny to think that we were just recently still in the same century as this cartoon.
