Doing Our Part
...to keep the Yanks out.
Our loss and Toronto's win mean the O's move 1.5 up on the Yanks. Balty is one of three teams NY has to jump to make the playoffs.
Tampa lost so our magic number is down to 3. Which means we can't clinch the division tomorrow. Which is good since I'm rooting for the Thursday night celebration. So tomorrow we need either a win or a Tampa loss or both to have a shot at it on Thursday. Both would be preferred.

Well, it kinda sucks since we'll be there, beards and all,was hoping for tomorrow night clinch as kind of a send off for my daughter who is moving down south. But, no matter what, it will still be fun!!! My son is meeting us and bringing friends. And we have a place to crash, so no long ride home....

The Yanks have missed the playoffs ONCE in the last 15 years. We've got a real shot at seeing it again here! They're in the homestretch of the wild card race and you better believe I'm following it on a minute-to-minute basis. But you know what? Even if they'd missed the playoffs EVERY year for the last 15, I'd still be following every game rooting like hell for them to miss out again. I cherish every tiny drop of Yankee misery like it was the first sip of water after crossing a universe-sized desert. I want to beat them down again and again and again and again until the end of time. This is kind of what this blog has been about for 9 years, 6 months, and 18 days and what my life has been about for 38 years and 10 days.
Kim--sorry you don't get to see a clinch! I may have to do it for you. Or I'll get screwed and it'll wait till Friday. But you could still see them clinch a playoff berth--a huge accomplishment after last year.
