Thank You, Donna Marsh O'Connor

Watching the flag-waving on television in New York, Donna Marsh O'Connor, who lost her pregnant daughter in the September 11 attack, said she, too, saw little reason to celebrate.

"Osama bin Laden is dead, and so is my daughter," she told Reuters. "His death didn't bring her back. We are not a family which celebrates death, no matter who it is."

Angels/Sox, 7:10. We missed Weaver in Anaheim, but we face him tonight.

I understand all the cheering last night, but I didn't take part in it.

I think you know why.
Bravo! This woman s a hero.
In defense of those waving flags, some might (naively, I think) believe that his death signals the end of the "War On Terror."

Others might see this as a sign Obama is trying to fight said conflict with solid intelligence and small, precise missions rather than invading a country that had nothing to do with the attacks. I seriously doubt he had any intention of being taken alive, so I don't see his death as necessarily being the essential component in this affair.

Still, I do hope some take advantage of the situation and try to do something positive rather than wallow in the brief, visceral thrill of revenge.
At least we didn't tear his body apart, feed it to the hogs, go on a "head on a stake national tour" & fire guns in the air while screaming like idiots.
