2012 will mark the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park. There will be all sorts of celebrations. But 2011 will be the 100th season at Fenway. The 100th opening day, etc. Are they celebrating this stuff? Or waiting till '12? Or have I made a horrible math error?

Reminds me of 1986, when the Mets wore "25th Anniversary" patches that season. It was their 25th season, but the actual 25th anniversary wasn't until 1987. Like yourself, I find it all very confusing.

Since the Sox asked about hosting the 2012 All-Star game as part of the "100th Anniversary" stuff...I'm guessing they're ignoring the "100th season" aspect. Although, I can't believe they'd miss the chance to use special balls at Fenway next year, and then again in 2012. And, of course, sell those balls at the park.
