"Life Is A Near-Death Experience" -- George Carlin
One of my comedy heroes, George Carlin, has died at age 71. I've spent a crapload of time reading his books, listening to his albums, and watching his routines.

Good call.
Explanation for others: I was in NYC on Saturday, and Chan and I watched some guy walk by, seemingly "air masturbating," until we caw his other hand and realized he was just playing air guitar.

Goerge was no doubt one of the all-time greats.
When I was 11 or 12 (1969 or 70)another kid and I at summer camp did the "11:00 News" routine with the "Hippie-Dippie Weatherman" segment (that was me) for the talent show. The kids and the younger counselors liked it but it didn't impress the older folks :)
Thanks for the links

No problem. It's really sad to know he's gone. So many situations come up where you think, "George Carlin would appreciate this." It was good to know there was somebody (who spoke publicly) shared your view when it came the behaviors of the sometimes stupid people around you. Now we have to say "would have." As Chan said, this is a "downer."
