"We're Getting The Band Back Together!"

Pac-Men stuff for sale update: I just checked the ol' ebay for more of the ol' my old band. Only one thing there now--someone selling a bunch of 'zines, including one we were interviewed in. I remember this interview being hilarious--I accidentally poured an entire strawberry milkshake onto my face and the surrounding area during it. I recommend bidding the 99 cents. But don't go above, let's say, 100 bucks.

Also, a TV fave of mine has died. Calvert DeForest, aka Larry "Bud" Melman was 85. What a sad ending line to that article:

At his request, there will be no funeral service for DeForest, who left no survivors.

I'm just honored to be mentioned in the same post as Larry "Bud." Oh, wait, I wrote the post myself. Myyy mistake. (Note: I have changed the title of this post to a perfect double-meaning line. I'm honored that Larry's spirit came to me and gave me the line. But no, it doesn't mean we're actually getting the band back together. As far as I know.)

Comments:
First line of this post is supposed to be like that. All akward sounding and whatnot.

How do you spill a milkshake on your face? Were you lying down or something? Was this interview at the beach?

You know how sometimes the shake is very thick, and there's like a mass of solid ice cream at the bottom? And you tilt it up toward your face, and only a trickle comes out of the blob, so you tilt it higher and higher until it's almost totally vertical? And then the whole thing just falls on your face and all around? That's what happened. The interview was done at a diner.

Very sad about Larry "Bud". NBC refused to allow him to continue to use the name when Letterman moved over to CBS. Apparently Dave was sick the other day, so they delayed their tribute to Calvert. I think about 4-5 years ago Dave did a phony memorial to Calvert that ended with him storming out and yelling "I'm not dead, you SOB!"

Sandler filled in for Dave Tuesday (his dog did a better job than he did), and then last night Dave was back, but I think the news broke after taping, because Dave didn't say anything at the start of the show. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't a rerun.

He'll always be L"B"M to me. I remember the switchover--my first year of college. Terrible job, NBC.
