Come on, Remy!

Again! Remy misses the fact that a player is purposely stopping short on a slide, attempting to get to the bag by then stepping over it, since he knows he'll be out if he slides in normally. He again says, "His spike got caught in the dirt..." No! Again, you should know this, Remy, since your old teammates Marty Barrett and Dwight Evans used to do it all the time.

Just heard this on the replay of the game...more on this awesome game, including pics, soon.

Also: I hate watch spam! I keep getting these e-mails telling me how a nice watch adds class or whatever. Anyone else get this?

Speaking of class, I was thinking about Lugo's ball that won Sunday's game. Since it was our guy, everyone said "Pitcher dropped the ball." And that's true. But if Jeter had been the batter on that play, it would've been, "Only the class and hustle of Derek Jeter could've made that play possible. You can't teach that. That's why when Earth is attacked, and one representative is chosen to negotiate with the aliens, it can only be Derek Jeter."

Comments:
I'd rather remember Sunday's game without thinking about Jeter.

Totally agree on the Lugo thing. There's probably only Coco and Lugo on our team who even make that play close. And the speed is what forced the rush to the bag. And that caused the error that allowed us to plate two runs. Full credit to Lugo.

Also, good to finally meet you in person last night (if only briefly) :-)

That last statement is so typical of "Backwards" Kay, the "Holocost & No Hitter Scholar".
