Thanks again to Tex. (Look for more from tonight's game later on.) If you want to get your pics from a Sox road game in '07 up on this blog, click here, or e-mail me at Two 20 67 at aol dot com.
TJ by us last night. I told Drew to not go and do something egregious, and he goes and does it. At least he's out-OBPing everybody. My girlfriend and I watched this game at the Riviera. I know I'm supposed to boycott it or whatever, but we were seeing Taxi Driver at midnight at the IFC theater, so we caught the game and dinner at the nearby Riv. It's definitely still a destination for NYC Sox fans. Although there seemed to be a hockey contingent there, too. But there were no other baseball games on besides the Sox.
Earlier, we watched (from a pool hall, fortunately with no sound on the TV) as A(pril)-Rod capped a Baltimore meltdown with a game-winning hit for a change. I was surprised no NY media accused him of knocking in those two extra meaningless runs, as the Yanks only needed two to win...
The Yanks gave it back, today, though, falling into a tie with us at 2-3, as we go into action tonight on ES Urine N.
I love the Yanks' starting five right now. According to Backwards Kay, this is the first time in Yankee history that none of their first five starters to start a season have made it to the sixth inning. They'll win plenty of games coming back late, but not as many as last year. They're in trouble. The door is open for us. (Or the Blue Jays if we shit the bed.)
I like that "open door policy." But they have the capability to score runs bigtime. The pressure on their bullpen is intense. So I hope you enjoy this perfectly timed Monday off-day. And then the M's come to town.
ReplyDeleteI'm just about to screen last night's Sopranos...one down, eight to go! Time flies.
