The last sentence reminds me of Ron Williamson, from John Grisham's The Innocent Man. How many players have major league dreams only to get cut and linger in the minors until injury or frustration ends their quest. How crappy do you suppose they feel to get traded and then traded back?
ReplyDeleteYeah, it must be tough. Abe Alvarez just keeps going back and forth. But then you've got Kevin Youkilis, who went up and down a bunch of times, but now finds himself with a starting role.
