Fuckin' Fuck Yeah!

Down 2, Papi 3-run double to win it in bottom 9! I wasn't sure Youk was even gonna try to score, but Lowrie crossing the plate with fist raised let me know we were gold!

That was the type of game where I was pretty much refusing to let us lose. Outhitting them by so much, having a lot of bad luck and more missed opportunities--I was thinking of it like the '04 season, where we had a long period of crap but I knew we had a great chance to come through at the very end. Maybe this game will be a microcosm of the '10 season too!

Papi was psyched. And Tito's smile in the dugout, priceless.

Comments:
This is two games in a row that Leland has walked the winning run on base, intentionally. I couldn't believe they were doing it again, but as soon as I saw that Youk was being put on, I just knew Ortiz was going to get a hit. I was thinking he'd drive in one or two, but all three is great, too.

Nice! Also sour pusses--O'Brien and Castig! I heard the middle chunk of this game on radio, and all they kept saying was how if we lose, we have to face Verlander and it's a real chance of getting swept.

Then toward the end of the game, Fox showed the match-up for tomorrow--Verlander with his 3.74 ERA, against Buchholz with his...2.71 ERA!

Also, what a bad job by Fox on that last play. Like I said, Lowrie's fist was our only clue that Youk was even TRYing to score. We didn't see Youk, or hear that he was attempting to score, until he sliding through home plate.

I watched that one with my Dad while holding my son; I said in the 8th that it would be a crime if the Sox didn't end up winning that one. They finally hit a ball that that kid Kelly in LF for the Bengals couldn't make a play on.
